Spicy Cookies / Kara Biscuits

                     Cookies are always makes a perfect gift for any occasion and this spicy cookie will steal the crowd if they are spicy lovers. When I surfed for some unique cookie recipe, I came across this and tried immediately  This recipe call for simple ingredients which are easily available in every household and don't take much of time and makes wonderful combo with cup of tea. Sharing this for Blogging Marathon group under the theme " 3 different cookies ".

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Baking time: 20 minutes per batch
Yield: 5 dozen
Adapted from : Chitvish recipe

Ingredients:

2 cups of all purpose flour / maida
1/2 tsp Baking soda
3 tbsp powdered sugar
3 tbsp yogurt / curd
1/2 cup butter / ghee
Salt to tatse

For Masala:
4 ~ 5 green chilies ( I used 4 chili and can be adjust to taste)
1/ 4 inch ginger
One handful of coriander leaves
1 ~ 2 string curry leaves
1/2 tsp cumin seeds

Method:
1. Grind the masala  in to coarse paste by adding tsp of water, if needed.




2. In a mixing bowl, mix all the listed ingredients and prepared masala paste and knead it in to stiff  dough. Stiff dough ensure to get crispy cookies.





3. Preheat the oven to 350 degree F, meantime line the cookie sheet with parchment paper or slipat mat and keep it ready.

4  Divide the dough in to small balls, roll each portions in to desired thickness chapathi and cut it in to cute shapes using cookie cutter and place it directly on the prepared baking tray.


5. Arrange the cookies, closely on the cookie sheet and bake it for 20 ~ 25 minutes.


6. Once baked, remove and cool. Store it in a air tight container.

  10. Wonderful savoury biscuits. I have a very similar recipe too on my blog. Love your pictures with cookies/biscuits tumbling out of baskets, popping out of boxes.. very pretty. Great effort
