seppan kizhangu varuval ( yam crispy fry)

Ingredients :

Seppan kizhangu/ yam - 300 gms

Curry powder/chille powder - 1 1/2 tsp

Tumeric powder - 1/4 tsp

Water - required

Salt to taste

For Seasoning:

Oil - 4 tsp

Mustard - 1/4 tsp

Curry leaves - required

Oil - 4tsp


Boil the yam in a kadai or in microwave.
Once it is cooked well & firm, allow it to cool & peel the skin.
Cut it in any desired shapes & marinate with curry powder, tumeric powder, salt & 1/2 tsp oil.
Rest it for 5 mins.
Heat the kadai, add seasoning ingredients & allow mustard to splutter.
Add the marinated yam to kadai & fry it well.
Dont cover the kadai, it will soften the yam. cook in low flame for crispy yam.
