Tomato Dosa

This is different from Regular dosa and can be done instantly with tomatoes . No fermentation is required for this & Wins everyone vote in our home.


Raw rice - 1 1/2 cup
Urad dal - 2 1/2 tbs
Fenugreek - 1/4 tsp
chopped tomato - 2
Red chille - 3 to 4
ginger - 1/2 inch
jeera - 1/2 spn
Shredded cocunut - 2 tbs (optional)
Jaggery - 2 spn (optional)
Salt - to taste
Water - required

Oil - as required


Wash & soak Raw rice, urad dal & fenugreek seeds in water for 2 hours.

Drain the water & add raw rice, urad dal, fenugreek seed, chopped tomato, cocunut, jaggery, redchille, ginger and jeera into a blender & grind it into a fine paste with required amount of water.

Adjust this paste to dosa batter consistency.

Heat the grindle & spread the landle full of batter into round shape.

Add Oil over the dosa and flip it over when it turns golden brown colour.
When dosa is done, transfer to serving plate.
Serve this dosa with cocunut chutney or peanut chutney.
