Futi kadhi / Goan Sol Kadhi without Coconut milk

            Futi Kadhi is Goa s special drink during summer. This is prepared using kokum fruits. which gives bright red color, improves digestion and cools the body.. To no more about this fruit, check here.. .  This recipe is for Blogging Marathon 26 week 4 under Goan Cuisine theme.. Enjoy this drink for this summer and blast the heat..

Preparation time: 3 hours
Adapted from My Kitchen trials
Makes : 2 Glasses

Ingredients:
10 ~ 12 dried Kokum           
2 ~ 3 glasses of water or as needed             
1 tbsp Sugar              
A pinch of hing
2 crushed garlic pods
1 chopped chilli
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1 tbsp cilantro /corainder leaves
Salt to taste
Method:
  • Soak kokum in 2 glasses of water for 3 hours. Strain and discard the pulp.
  • Add the sugar, salt, hing. Mix till the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add the crushed garlic, chopped chillies and coriander leaves.  Add water if needed and adjust salt, spices to taste.
  • Enjoy this refreshing drink and tickle your tastebuds.
