Apple Almond Oatmeal

      Breakfast is a essential one in everyone's life that too when it comes to kids..Its really a challenge task to every mom to take care of their health. As a Mom, I know how difficult to feed our kids with their choices of food with out missing nutritious need.  We usually have oatmeal for our  breakfast with addition of fruits and nuts for healthier option. Apple Almonds Oatmeal is a instant complete meal to kick start your day. I have used homemade applesauce and nuts to sneak fruits and nuts in my kids diet.. If you want, use can use diced apples and sliced almonds...

                                          Apple Almond Oatmeal                                                                                              
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 20 ~ 30 minutes
Yield: 3 ~ 4


Ingredients:
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 cup water / milk / soymilk
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup applesauce
2 tbsp almond meal and few chopped almonds
A pinch of cinnamon
2 tsp  brown sugar or to taste

Method:
1. Stem cook one apple. Peel the skin and remove seeds.. take the pulp and    measure it. To this add almond meal and mix it. Keep it aside until use.
2. Heat milk or water in a pan,  add oats, when water starts to boil along with salt.
3. Heat the mixture until it boils, then reduce the heat to low.
4. Stir in the apple sauce mixture and cinnamon and mix well.
5. Cook on low heat and continue to stir the mixture for 5 minutes.
6. Pour the oatmeal into a bowl and sprinkle the brown sugar on top.
7. Allow the oatmeal to cool for a minute before serve.
